According to a report in today (tomorrow?)’s Sydney Morning Herald, English cricket fans have struck a major blow against the Australian cricket team in the run up to the Ashes.
According to the article, an email has been circulated among English supporters with a list of the Australian team’s personal email addresses. Fans are then encouraged to send as much ribbald commentary and general junk mail as possible to the team, paying special attention to the infamously volatile Glen McGrath.
While there is still no indication as to where the list originated or how the details were obtained, the SMH has confirmed that the addresses are genuine.
More techno-savy fans have even hacked some accounts entirely, changing details and sending emails under the names of team members.
The RCC wish to stress that it has not participated in these activities. Indeed, most members were shocked to learn there were computers in Australia.
